Weston library event Tuesday focuses on GMOs

weston-tomato-GMO-red-ripeA showing of the new movie Genetic Roulette — The Gamble of Our Lives by bestselling author Jeffrey Smith will take place at the Weston Public Library at 56 Norfield Road on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m.

Tara Cook-Littman from GMO Free CT will be on hand before and after the movie to talk about the importance of the GMO labeling issue. Ms. Cook-Littman is a nutrition counselor. GMO stands for genetically modified organisms.

If you’re wondering what Proposition 37 in California and the labeling issue in Connecticut are all about, this movie will help you understand why many consumers want foods labeled in order to tell if they contain genetically modified foods.
