Weston Women’s League installs new board of officers for 2012-13

The Weston’s Women League (WWL) has installed its board for 2012-13.

The newly elected board members were sworn into office at the league’s annual installation dinner on May 30 at the Aspetuck Valley Country Club.

The WWL board members are Stacey Tucker, president; Kim Burke, vice president of membership; Michelle Zwack and Margaret Krauss, vice presidents of fund raising; Anne Bigin, vice president of community activities; Catherine Revzon, vice president of communications and publicity; Mica DeSantis, vice president of philanthropy; Kim Summers, secretary; Tami Campos, treasurer; and Heather Pemberton Levy, immediate past president.

“We have a wonderful mix of seasoned and brand new members on the board this year. The dynamic mix of experience and fresh ideas will give the league great energy in the year ahead,” said Ms. Tucker.

At the celebration, awards were given to both those who showed exceptional volunteerism this past year as well as members celebrating milestones.

The league honored Katherine DeSousa as “Member of the Year,” and Kim Burke as “New Member of the Year.” Tami Campos, Debby Katz, Kathleen O’Connell, and Dena Tunney were recognized for their five-year anniversaries with the league.

The Weston Women’s League is a diverse group of women dedicated to promoting a sense of community through volunteerism, fund raising and social events. The league hosts ongoing social outings and welcomes community volunteers to join in its events, including the Weston Farmers’ Market, Children’s Holiday Breakfast, Breast Cancer Walk, UNICEF collection, and the Thanksgiving Blood Drive.
