Author discusses caring for an aging parent Tuesday, May 15, in Westport

Westport clinical psychologist and author Janis Abrahms Spring will discuss her award-winning book, Life with Pop: Lessons on Caring for an Aging Parent, on Tuesday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. at Temple Israel in Westport.

The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by ITNCoastalCT and LINKS Connections for Independent Living.

The topic speaks to all who are caring for or expect to care for an aging parent or partner. Dr. Spring will address questions such as how to move toward forgiveness with an aging parent or partner before they die, and how to balance another person’s needs against one’s own.

Dr. Spring weaves together her patients’ confessions with her own firsthand experience shepherding her father through his final years. Her multi-media talk includes poignant film clips.

Temple Israel is at 14 Coleytown Road in Westport. For more information call 203-838-2001 or 203-349-5333. The author will be available for a book signing after the talk.
