Church holds auction to support Parkinson’s research

Sly Like a Fox Silent Auction for Parkinson's FoundationThe Unitarian Church in Westport announced the ‘Sly Like a Fox’ Auction benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and the church.  This high profile, black-tie optional event is open to anyone supporting an end to Parkinson’s and will take place Saturday, Sept. 8, from 7-9 p.m. at the Unitarian Church at 10 Lyons Plains Road in Westport.

The event is in honor of Sr. Minister Frank Hall who will be retiring from the church  June, 2013.  “We wanted to kick off Frank’s final year with something special in recognition of his 28 years of service to both our congregation and the community at large and in support of his own personal fight against Parkinson’s” said Chuck Colletti, chairman of the church’s Board of Trustees.

The evening starts with a wine/appetizer/silent auction hour at 7.  The evening is being catered by the Blue Lemon restaurant of Westport.

The live auction starts promptly at 8, hosted by radio and television personality David Smith as the evening’s auctioneer.  Auction items include a week’s vacation in Montauk, recording studio time with Emmy winning producer, VIP pit passes to a NASCAR race, hockey tickets with a Zamboni ride, interior and landscaping design and much more.
