Weston parenting program explores mindfulness

weston-mindful-meditation-yWeston Youth Services is sponsoring Mindful Parenting with guest speaker Mark Bertin MD on Friday, Feb. 21, from 9:30 to 11.

“Mindfulness” means becoming more aware of how we parent (and react). Learning to better manage circumstances and stressors can help parents be more effective.

Dr. Bertin is a board-certified developmental behavioral pediatrician and an assistant professor of pediatrics at New York Medical College, and is on the faculty of the Windward Teacher Training Institute.

Dr. Bertin is a frequent lecturer for parents, teachers and professionals on topics related to child development, including autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD, mindfulness, and parenting, and is the author of The Family ADHD Solution.

His Child Development Central blog may be found on the websites of the Huffington Post, Psychology Today, Friends of Quinn, and Education Update.

Parent workshops are open to all parents and caregivers, and there is no fee to attend. To RSVP, email [email protected] or call 203-222-2585.
