Spring for Abilis Gala supports those with special needs

Abilis, the nonprofit organization that provides services and supports for individuals with special needs and their families, will hold its Spring for Abilis Gala event on Saturday, May 6, at 7 p.m., at The Tamarack Country Club.

Brooke’s wish of seeing the ocean was realized with a trip to Buccaneer in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Such dreams are realized only through the use of donated airline miles, which can be shared with Make-A-Wish Connecticut through the HAN Network’s Wishes in Flight Campaign.

Wishing to be near the ocean

Brooke, an 8-year-old girl from Ridgefield, loves the water, so being near the ocean was a top priority for her wish.

People’s United Community Foundation presents employee matching gift to United Way

United Way of Coastal Fairfield County recently accepted a $184,108 donation from People’s United Community Foundation on behalf of 70 United Way organizations within People’s United’s footprint throughout New England and New York.

Devin Banks of Weston loves cheetahs, and will get to see them in their natural habitat thanks to Make-A-Wish Connecticut. Donated airline miles are crucial to trips like Devin’s that involve travel, and can be contributed via the HAN Network’s Wishes in Flight Campaign.

Now a third grader in Weston, Devin Banks, 10, is excitedly preparing for his trip to South Africa to see his favorite animals in their natural habitat.
