Aspiring Eagle Scout James Rainone is collecting bicycles this weekend at the Onion Barn.

Troop 788 Eagle Scout candidate James Rainone is once again collecting unwanted bicycles this Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, from 10 to 2 at the Onion Barn in Weston Center.

For his Eagle Scout project, James has chosen to refurbish and re-purpose unwanted bicycles for charity.

Once the bikes are collected, James will repair and distribute the bikes to organizations such as the Chester Addison Community Center of Stamford, and the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

Rather than let unused bikes take up space or end up in a landfill, bikes may be donated and given a new life and distributed back into the community.

For the past two weekends, James has been successful collecting a number of bikes at the Onion Barn. This is the last scheduled weekend and last call for bike donations.
