When police responded, they found two men, later identified as Zachary Orsher, 18, of Wilton and Carlos Uribe, 18, of Stamford, asleep and lying next to each other off the roadway. After several failed verbal attempts to awaken the individuals, an officer shook their feet and woke them. According to police, the pair appeared disoriented, their speech was slurred and their eyes were bloodshot.
Police say the men told them they were visiting a home in Weston then went out walking and fell asleep. Upon searching the individuals and their backpack, police found a container with a substance that smelled like marijuana, a red smoking pipe, numerous pieces of jewelry, 12 personal checks, and vials of diazepam and dexamethasone drugs.
Police determined the pair had taken the jewelry, checks and drugs without permission from the Weston home, and arrested them.
Mr. Orsher was charged with possession of a controlled substance, larceny in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has a court date of March 22.
Mr. Uribe was charged with possession of a controlled substance, larceny in the third degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree. He was arraigned in court on March 14.
