Boys swimming: Weston is Class S champ

poolThe Weston High boys swim team won the state Class S championship at Wesleyan University in Middletown on Wednesday. It was Weston’s first state title since 2010.

The Trojans scored 698 points, dethroning two-time defensing champ Sacred Heart, which was runner-up with 538. Holy Cross was third with 472.

Weston took three gold medals, including one in the 200 medley relay with Adam Winikoff, Clayton Morikawa, Jordan Berger and Hugo Sykes finishing in one minute, 40.52 seconds.

Berger also won two individual gold medals, taking first in the 200 individual medley in 1:56.94 and in the 100 breaststroke in 59.09.
