Phil Schaefer appears in a scene from the new TV show Dead of Night on the Investigation Discovery Network.
Phil Schaefer of Weston has a leading role in the premiere episode of a new television show on the Investigation Discovery Network, produced by NBC Peacock Productions, called Dead of Night.
Mr. Schaefer, who is chairman of the Weston school board, plays NYPD Detective Lou Yero, based on a true crime from 2008.
Shows in the series are stand-alone crime re-enactments, so Mr. Schaefer’s character appears on just the initial episode and is not recurring.
Dead of Night provides a glimpse into a seductive nighttime world in which darkness becomes the enemy of life itself.
The show’s premise is that there’s just something about the dark that awakens primal fears. “When the sun goes down, predators lurk in the shadows waiting to make a night on the town turn deadly for unsuspecting fun seekers,” the show’s producers said in a release.
The show debuts Tuesday, March 12, at 10 p.m. on the Investigation Discovery Network.
On Cablevision the show will be broadcast on Channel 171.
