The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Weston and southwest Connecticut in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday, March 7, through noon on Friday, March 8.
Two to five inches of wet snow is possible as temperatures fall into the lower 30s Thursday night.
Periods of light snow and rain today will become all snow this evening and continue through tonight before tapering off by noon Friday. Snowfall could be moderate at times, the weather service said.
Winds will be from the north at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 25.
As of Thursday morning, Weston schools were open, Metro-North was reporting good service on the New Haven and Danbury branch lines, and CL&P reported no outages in Fairfield County.
The storm is expected to move away Friday night, as skies become just cloudy. Saturday will be sunny with a high near 47 and light winds at 7 to 10 mph.
