An opening reception for their exhibit, entitled Inside/Outside, will be held on Wednesday, March 13, at 2 at The Watermark retirement community, 3030 Park Avenue. The artists will discuss their work during the reception, which will include light refreshments and a performance by pianist Tony Procaccini.
Susanne Keany has exhibited her work widely in Connecticut, New York and Florida. Her work is inspired by nature, particularly by her views of the landscape along the Saugatuck River in Weston.
“I look out my windows and am astounded by the beauty of the trees, the sky, and the moon,” said Ms. Keany. “I hope to capture that magical place between the solidity of the earth and the lightness of the air in this latest exhibit.”
Barbara Bernstein has contributed to more than 200 art group and national shows and has won 40 awards, along with the Grumbacher Gold Medallion for outstanding achievement in oil painting. Her works are in many private and public collections, including General Electric, the town of Westport and the Connecticut National Bank.
“My work draws on traditional subject matter including landscape, interiors, still life, and figures,” said Ms. Bernstein. “The interplay between the abstract and the objective is thematic throughout my work, and I look forward to sharing it with residents and guests of The Watermark.”
