High school students from Weston and other towns in the greater Bridgeport/Norwalk region are invited to audition for the 14th edition of the Fairfield Follies, Follies 2013 — All Shook Up.
Fairfield Follies is a tuition-free program (a small costuming fee is required) that, over the past 13 years, has offered theatrical training and musical experience to approximately 1,000 high school students.
Nightly rehearsals for Follies 2013 begin in late February under professional-quality direction.
Students who act, sing or dance are being sought for the auditions of Follies 2013 — All Shook Up. The auditions will take place at the Rodger Ludlowe Middle School auditorium, 689 Unquowa Road in Fairfield, and will be held Monday, Feb. 25, Wednesday, Feb. 26, and Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Students need to attend only one night of auditions and will be required to come prepared with a song. If possible, they should bring sheet music or an instrumental CD; piano accompaniment will be provided.
Some auditioners will be asked to perform a dance routine, which will be taught on the night of auditions. Applicants may also be asked to read from a script.
Performances of the production will be held May 9-11.
