Beginning next week, expect traffic to move a little more slowly through Weston.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT)will begin a resurfacing project on Route 53 and Route 57 in Weston. The project is scheduled to occur Monday, July 9, to Thursday, July 26. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
The project consists of resurfacing a 4.25-mile segment of Route 53 (Newtown Turnpike) from Valley Forge Road through the overlap of Route 57 (Weston Road), and ending in the vicinity of Norfield Road. A four-mile section of Route 57 (Weston/Georgetown Road) will also be resurfaced between the Westport Town Line and Trails End Road.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2012 vendor-in-place program.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be used to guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
