Olivia Charney reports that her family’s six-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has been missing from their riverfront home on Colony Road since Thursday afternoon, Jan. 31.
The puppy, Lila, was outside with another family pet dog when she disappeared around 2:45 p.m., on Jan. 31.
The dog is a tri-color female and is primarily black with white and brown markings. She has black spots on her nose and a white “saddle” on her hips.
Mark Harper, the town’s animal control officer, said he received an abrupt message about a dog being spotted and then rescued from the river around the same time. The caller did not leave a name.
“No other information was given and it is felt that these two occurrences may be linked,” Ms. Charney.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the local animal control officer at 203-222-2642, the police at 203-222-2600 or the pet owner at 203-216-5330. There is a $1,500 reward for the puppy’s return.
“Lila is a very gentle and loving animal. She is deeply missed by her family,” Ms. Charney said.
