Weston High School graduate Nicholas Fjellberg Swerdlowe will be leading a “maker’s forum” this weekend featuring a panel of four successful designers all under the age of 30.
Their fields of expertise are in architecture, fashion and industrial product design.
Mr. Swerdlowe holds a degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a focus on sustainability and service design. He works as an industrial designer for Coach in New York City.
His panel will consist of 24-year-old Chandler Noah, 22-year-old Annabel P. Armstrong, and 23-year-old Ben Bangser.
Mr. Noah is a New York City-based interior designer who worked with architect and interior designer Antonio Di Oronzo at the hospitality firm Bluarch Architecture + Interior and was asked to join the design team of the interior design firm Yabu Pushelberg.
Ms. Armstrong has her own clothing line called The Mudroom Closet and received the Sirlin Award from the Savannah College of Art and Design for most outstanding women’s wear.
Mr. Bangser is an industrial designer at Product Ventures and a sculptor, and he developed toys to be licensed to multinational toy companies.
Each designer will share his or her experience as well as future plans and projects with high school students who are eager to make a career in design.
The forum will take place Saturday, Feb. 9, in the McManus auditorium at the Westport Library.
