Selectmen decide on company for Weston revaluation

The Weston Board of Selectmen met at a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, June 8 to discuss revaluation.

In 2018, Weston will conduct a town-wide revaluation of property values for the Oct. 1, 2018 grand list and the town needs to hire a company to do the work.

Weston Town Administrator Jonathan Luiz said the town put out requests for proposals in April. It has received five total bids and Luiz recommended a company called eQuality of Waterbury.

Its bid was $85,000, the lowest of the five bids. In his research, Luiz said this company is the best for the job. “Not only are they the cheapest, but Denise [Hames, Weston’s assessor] thinks they’re the best choice,” said Luiz.

The board made a motion to enter into an agreement with eQuality for revaluation services.
