The town of Weston and Weston Middle School (WMS) PTO have put together a screening of the movie Sing as a summer kick-off to celebrate the start of the season on Wednesday, June 21.

Parks & Recreation, Youth Services, The Weston Senior Center, The Weston Public Library Board and the PTO put together the event, which is being touted as a night for families, friends and Weston residents.

The event begins at 7 p.m. and is held at the Weston Middle School Field. Rain date is Thursday, June 22 at the same time.

The movie itself will begin at dusk, but the event begins at 7 with Parks and Recreation counselors running games for kids, as well as face painting and other activities.

The film Sing is American 3D computer-animated musical comedy film featuring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, and John C. Reilly.

“We encourage everyone to bring a blanket, chairs and some food; however, we will be providing popcorn and are currently trying to book a food truck and ice cream truck for extra snacks and delicious food for anyone looking to eat during the event.” said Joe Parciasepe, Parks and Recreation’s program director. “We want to get summer started off with a big event.”
