James A. Hoey, 87, of Weston, husband of Helen (Osgood) Hoey, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 29th, at home in the company of his family.
Mr. Hoey was born February 20, 1925, in Brookline, Massachusetts, son of the late Michael J. and Bertha (Green) Hoey, and has been a resident of Weston for the past thirty-two years. He was a parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Weston, a 1947 graduate of Tufts University with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a member of the Westport Y’s men. During World War II Mr. Hoey served in the US Navy.
Survivors in addition to his wife include, three daughters, Deborah Nekus and her husband Andrew of Ridgewood, NJ, Judith Falbo and her husband Anthony of Newtown, CT, Ellen MacCloy and her husband Robert of Monroe, CT; two sons, James M. Hoey and his wife Mary Ann of Chicago, IL, Stephen A. Hoey and his wife Deborah of Bourbonnais, IL. and twelve grandchildren, Michael, Jim, Allison, Max, Bill Anthony, Ryan, Conor, Lindsay, Stephanie, Errica and Molly. Mr. Hoey was also predeceased by one sister, Mary Bell.
The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Rd. E., Westport, CT, Friday, February 1, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, February 2, 2013, meeting directly at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 35 Norfield Rd., Weston, CT. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Rd., Westport, CT. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. John A.
