The Weston Garden Club is holding a dedication ceremony in honor of the late Gaspar Veloso, a postal worker at the Weston Post Office, on Saturday, June 30, at 1 p.m.
The ceremony, scheduled to take place at the flag pole outside the Weston post office, will include the reading of a proclamation by First Selectman Gayle Weinstein, and the dedication of a plaque at the base of the flag pole.
Thanks in part to several generous donations made in Mr. Veloso’s name, the Weston Garden Club has taken over the maintenance of the gardens and the landscaping outside the post office, a task formerly done voluntarily by Mr. Veloso, an avid gardener.
