Matthew Corvese

Matthew J. Corvese, 21, of Wilton, Connecticut, died Saturday, January 12, at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven, CT. Born in New York City on November 8, 1991, he was the son of Brian J. Corvese of Wilton, CT and Barbara Toth and the stepson of David F. Favreau of Sutton, MA. He was the brother of Christopher Corvese of Wilton, CT and Laura Corvese of the Netherlands. He was the grandson of Beatrice Corvese and the late Ernest Corvese of Wakefield, RI and Mary Loud Toth and the late Bernard J. Toth of Wakefield, RI.

Matt was a graduate of the Weston Middle School, the Wilton High School and was attending college in Columbus, Ohio. Matt had the unique ability to make friends easily and maintained friendships throughout New England as well as Ohio. He was especially passionate about music, attending live concerts of his favorite bands throughout the region whenever possible.

Matt’s infectious smile and personality were a comfort to everyone he encountered. His physical presence will be truly missed but his memory will live on.

He is survived by his uncles and aunts; David Corvese, Robert Toth, Katherine Favreau, Steven Corvese, Mary Frances Gould, Patricia Poirier of South Kingstown, RI and Russel Corvese of Dublin, OH. Additionally, he leaves 24 cousins and the extended family of the Favreau’s of Woodstock, CT and the Duval’s of Dudley. MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Matthew J Corvese Foundation, P.O. Box 49, Westport, CT 06681 for vocational or educational instruction or to the charity of your choice.

Visiting hours will be held at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI from 4-7 PM, on Friday, January 18, and from 9-10 AM on Saturday, January 19, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Pt. Judith Rd, Narragansett, RI at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI. For guest book and condolences, averystortifuneralhome.com.
