The Winter Farmers Market is hosting a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in honor of National Tea Month, this Saturday, Jan. 12, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Norfield Grange at 12 Goodhill Road.
Join Ewa Ojarovska, tea sommelier and certified tea etiquette consultant, who will host this event. She’ll teach you how to choose, steep and pour the perfect cup of tea, as well as proper tea etiquette.
Come to the market and join in the fun! Wear a hat — awards will be given to the “Best Adult Hat” and the “Best Child’s Hat” (under 18). Feel free to bring your favorite teacup along, but don’t worry, there will be extras on hand. Afternoon tea fare will be served.
There will be a cost of $5 per person for tea. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited; so call 203-226-8233 or email: [email protected] to make a reservation. Loose Leaf Tea Company will provide the tea for the event. Fresh market produce and baked goods will be provided from the market vendors.
At the Winter Farmers Market, families can purchase farm fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, jams and jellies, honey, maple syrup, goats milk cheese and yogurt, handmade soap and body products, natural beef and pork, wild-caught seafood, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods, live plants, and more.
Support local artisans selling hand-knit hats, hair accessories, fresh cut flowers, artwork, pottery, jewelry, and more. The market is open every Saturday through May 4, from 10 to 2.
