The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority PURA) will be holding public hearings on whether the utility companies were prepared and adequately responded to Superstorm Sandy in October. All who lost power or who suffered property damage are invited to share comments.
Comments may also be sent using the PURA web filing system atonline at ct.gov/pura, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or mailed to Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, Executive Secretary’s Office, 10 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051.
The public hearings are set for Monday, Jan. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave., Westport; and Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Waterford Town Hall, 15 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford.
The authority may continue the hearing on additional dates, if deemed necessary.
The public may call the PURA offices at 860-827-1553, option 4 (using a touch tone phone), beginning each day from 7:30 a.m., to find out if the hearings have been cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather.
