My name is Jessica Riley and I am the president of the Class of 2012.
On behalf of the class, I would like to thank the the faculty of Weston Public Schools. Ever since kindergarten, you have helped shape us into the people we are today, and that is something we will forever be in debt to you for.
I would also like to thank my class, not only for electing me to represent you all for our senior year in high school, but for being the class that I know and love. I can’t even begin to describe what an amazing experience it has been to work with and represent you all this past year. As a class, we set the standards very high for classes to come — good luck Class of 2013. Weston High School is the number one school in Fairfield County. it is number two in the state. AND it is 163rd in the nation. The Class of 2012 helped make those statistics possible.
The town of Weston could not be more dedicated to our school system. The togetherness and community feel is definitely the thing I will miss most about our small town. We are able to come together in both difficult and joyful times to make a difference.
In the past few weeks, I have been dreading graduation. Thinking about this day was like thinking about having to go to the dentist. All I could think about was the little things I would miss most about our school. Being Doaked, listening to one of Coach Lato’s famous speeches, shaking hands with Mr. Paul, listening to Brian over the announcements every day, parking AND trying not to get run over in the senior lot, and last, but not least, watching Ms. Wolak in awe because she has more energy than our whole class put together. Many of us still wonder how much coffee she drinks in the morning.
Although I will miss our community more than you can even imagine, I believe it is now our job to spread what the town of Weston has taught us to others. We need to spread the importance of teamwork, and sense of community. I wish my classmates the best of luck in whatever path they choose to follow.
