Weston will observe moment of silence Friday

At Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s request, the town of Weston will participate in a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21. The governor has declared Friday to be a Day of Mourning in Connecticut.

All residents are also invited to join with town officials and localclergy at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Norfield Road at 9:15 a.m. for a brief ceremony.

Following the moment of silence, bells will be rung 26 times in honor of each life that was taken at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown last Friday morning, Dec. 14.
