Weston/Westport interfaith vigil Sunday for Newtown shooting victims moved indoors

A 4 p.m. vigil for the victims of the school shooting in Newtown will be moved indoors, to the auditorium at the Westport Town Hall.

Weston First Gayle Weinstein announced the town of Weston will join with the town of Westport and the Interfaith Clergy Association of Westport and Weston for a Community Candlelight Vigil in memory of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.

The vigil will take place on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m. at Veterans’ Green, 110 Myrtle Ave., across from Westport Town Hall. All are invited to attend.

In the case of severe inclement weather, the gathering will take place in the auditorium at the Westport Town Hall.

On Friday, Dec. 14, a gunman shot and killed 20 children and six adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. Police identified the shooter, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
