Sleep-away camp is topic of free parenting workshop at Weston library

Weston Youth Services is offering a free parenting workshop led by Dr. Barbara Greenberg of Weston.

The program, Dealing with the Transition of Sleep-Away Camp … The Struggles and Joys, reviews a number of scenarios and how to best deal with them. The goal is to make the summer as stress-free and seamless as possible for parents and children alike.

The workshop is open to parents of elementary through high school students.

It is scheduled for Tuesday, June 19, in the Weston Public Library Community Room from 11:30 to 1 and again from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Pre-registration is available but not required at westonyouthservices.org. Drop-ins are welcome.

Dr. Greenberg is a professional consultant on adolescent issues at Silver Hill Hospital. She is co-author of Teenage As A Second Language, the “Teen Doctor” for Psychology Today, a parenting expert for Galtime.com, and blogs regularly for the Huffington Post.

Dr. Greenberg has a doctorate in clinical psychology from SUNY at Stony Brook, and served as a clinical administrator on an adolescent inpatient unit at a private psychiatric hospital for 21 years.
