The Weston High volleyball team defeated defending champ Rocky Hill 3-2 (25-21, 27-29, 17-25, 25-11, 15-13), in the semifinals of the state Class M tournament on Monday at home.
Savannah Carpenter led second-seeded Weston with 12 kills, 18 digs and 11 service points. Taylor Swanson had 26 assists, 11 digs, six service points and four blocks.
Justine Belport finished with nine kills and 10 service points. She also had 17 digs.
Anna Hengelbrok had 13 digs, six kills and six blocks.
Fran Holmes had 18 digs and 10 service points to go with five blocks and four kills. Sydney Weiss had eight digs.
Kelly Babcock had seven service points, for Weston, which will play third-seeded Ledyard in the semifinals on Wednesday at a site to be determined.
