The Westport Weston Cooperative Nursery School (WCNS) will move forward as planned with its fifth annual tag sale fund-raiser which typically benefits the not-for-profit school and its programs. This year, the school’s community has decided to donate 100% of its profits to the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Pat Rackliffe, the director of WWCNS said, “The date of the tag sale had been chosen long ago. However, with the timing of the event coinciding with this real catastrophe resulting from Hurricane Sandy, we, the co-op community, felt it was important to donate all of the profits of the tag sale to the victims of storm.”
The co-op has a history of giving back to the community through various drives such as coat, food, and school supplies, as well as adopting families in need during holiday time by fulfilling their “wish lists.”
Items being sold include gently used baby gear, clothing (children and maternity), furniture, toys, books, and games.
The sale is at the Unitarian Church, 10 Lyons Plain Road, Westport, on Saturday, Nov. 10. Early Bird Admission: 9-10 a.m. ($5); standard admission: 10-1 ($1).
Any items that are not sold will be donated to Daughters of Charity in Bridgeport and transported by Noah’s Ark Moving and Storage, who, along with PODS, is donating its time and services.
