Power restoration should be ‘substantially complete’ by end of today

sandy-CLP-truck-town-hallOn Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, more than a week after power was knocked out to the entire town of Weston, First Selectman Gayle Weinstein is reporting that restoration is expected to be “substantially complete by day’s end.”

There are 65 line crews, 20 tree crews, and four service crews in town today, trying to connect the nearly 600 customers CL&P is reporting are still without power this morning. That represents about 15% of the town’s 3,809 customers.

The comfort station is open at Weston High School today until 8PM for showers and electronic charging. Showers and coffee will be available at the high school tomorrow morning only, from 6-9AM.

School will re-open in Weston tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Ms. Weinstein said, “I do need to thank the residents of Weston for their incredible patience, and more importantly, the spirit of volunteerism this past week. Weston truly is a ‘small town with a big heart.’”
