Marcia Selden Catering inducted into hall of fame

Marcia Selden Catering & Event Planning, a Stamford-based catering company established 38 years ago, has been inducted into the Connecticut Restaurant Association’s Hall of Fame. The company is the first catering business to receive that honor.

“We are so honored to be inducted into the Connecticut Restaurant Association’s Hall of Fame. After 38 years, thousands of events and a lot of love later, we still adore this business as much as we did on day one,” said Marcia Selden, founder and president of Marcia Selden Catering & Event Planning.

Selden started the business on a whim out of her kitchen more than 35 years ago. A friend asked her if she knew someone who could cater Thanksgiving dinner and Selden volunteered to do it. Today, the company has grown to a multimillion-dollar business with a second location in New York City.

Selden’s son, Jeffrey Selden of Weston, is the company’s managing partner. Before joining the family business, he worked in events at top New York City hotels, including the Pierre and St. Regis.

Jeffrey Selden lives in Weston with his wife, Debbie, and two children.
