The Weston Hebrew after-school program headed by veteran educator Freida Hecht, conducted a well-attended Hanukah Chocolate Factory and Open House on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Norfield Grange in Weston.

The chocolate factory featured chocolate dreidel candy-making. Other activities included menorah wood-working, sand art, donut making and decorating, and a latke bar with hot potato pancakes and applesauce. The children also met Judah Maccabee, aka Jacob Stein, of Weston.

The afternoon of activities concluded with a Hanukah glow in the dark menorah lighting, with more than 60 adults and children attending.

The after-school Hebrew program is accepting registration for its new semester that begins on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016.

The Weston Hebrew after-school program features the popular Aleph Champ Hebrew reading and writing program for first through seventh graders with a special “First Taste of Torah” program for kindergarten-age children.

The after-school program also prepares students for Bar and Bat Mitzvah and includes art, music and a thematic curriculum that imparts the joy of Judaism to its students.
