Boys lacrosse: Barlow ousts Weston

The Weston High boys lacrosse team fell 16-4 to South-West Conference rival Joel Barlow in the semifinals of the state Class S tournament on Wednesday at Fairfield Ludlowe High.

Weston, the number four seed, led 2-1 early in the first period but trailed 7-3 at halftime. Top-seeded Barlow, which lost to Weston in the SWC championship last month, went on a seven-goal run that spanned the third and fourth frames.

Lyle Mitchell, Sean Fumai, Jack Scheufele (right) and Jesse Laico each scored a goal. Grant Limone made 15 saves for Weston, which finishes the season at 17-5 overall.
