The Wilton Chamber of Commerce is presenting the “Georgetown Gallop” 5K Road Race on Sunday, June 10, in collaboration with the Georgetown Day celebration on Main Street in Georgetown.
The 5K Road Race begins at 11 a.m. at the corner of Old Mill Road and Route 57. It is a self-timed, mostly flat 3.1-mile course out and back on picturesque Old Mill. Check-in starts at 10 a.m. outside Mini Vinny’s Deli. Prizes by age group will be awarded. The “Gallop” is followed by the “Pony Express” Kids Fun Run. Pre-race entry fee for the 5K is $12, $15 day of race. Kids K is $5 and includes a participation medal for everyone. After the road races, everyone is encouraged to attend the Georgetown Day Festival across the road from noon until 6 , rain or shine. More than 75 vendors will have booths set up along Main Street with crafts, jewelry, clothing and more for sale. The festival also features music, a Chili Cook-Off, a bungee jump trampoline, refreshments, kids’ activities and entertainment throughout the day.
