The Norfield Children’s Center held its Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 13, on a crisp, bright fall day at the Weston Historical Society’s Coley Homestead.

Some older children helped out by volunteering along with their parents, adding to the family atmosphere.

Karen Tatarka, Weston Public Library director, judged the jack-o’-lantern contest, with a group of after-school children taking the Kids category by creative use of a stem for the nose on their entry.

The Banks family took home the prize for the Family category with a colorful, multi-faceted entry inspired by the computer game Angry Birds.

The winners received a gift certificate to a local restaurant, and in the case of the group of kids, an on-site pizza party.
