Members of the public are invited to join Richard Wiese of Weston, on-air host and creator of ABC’s Born to Explore, Westonite Mercedes Velgot, executive producer of the TV show, and the rest of the crew when they celebrate their season two premiere at La Roue Elayne at Cobb’s Mill Inn, Friday, Oct. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Born to Explore has traveled to exotic and wild locations around the world, giving insights into unique cultures and wildlife.
“Born to Explore is as much about discovery of the natural world as it is about creating a positive understanding of the many beautiful cultures that inhabit our planet,” said Mr. Wiese. “The most memorable aspect of any journey is not ‘the summit’ but the people you meet along the way.”
In its successful first season Born to Explore was nominated for a Daytime Emmy.
The Born to Explore team is excited to share season two’s new adventures with the public. The evening will include an introduction from Mr. Weise, followed by the season premiere adventure in Chile and a Q&A session.
In this first episode, which will be aired on ABC the following day, Saturday, Oct. 6, Mr. Weise meets the country’s only professional commercial fisherwoman out on the high seas in her small wooden boat. Through this journey, Mr. Weise discovers aspects of the rich Chilean culture that are off the beaten path.
The event is open to the public with tickets available for purchase through Cobb’s Mill Inn. The $25 ticket includes the show, hors d’oeuvres, pasta station, soft drinks, and coffee, and there will be a cash bar.
After the event, guests are welcome to stay. There will be a live band performing at 9 by the adjoining bar, and the restaurant downstairs will be open for orders through 10:30.
