Art/Place, one of the oldest non-profit artist cooperative associations in Connecticut has recently moved into new gallery space in Fairfield at 70 Sanford Street, in a building shared by the Fairfield Theatre Company.
Celebrating their 30th anniversary, Art/Place members are presenting Another Opening, Another Show, their inaugural exhibition in the new gallery, through Oct. 30.
A public reception is set for Sunday, Sept. 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
The anniversary is also being celebrated with a second Art/Place exhibition in Southport at the Pequot Library’s Perkin Gallery. The exhibition is on view through Oct. 4.
With its new gallery in the heart of Fairfield, Art/Place is seeking applications from prospective new members. Artists in working in all media are invited to submit work for jurying by Monday, Oct. 22. Applications are available from Sandra Meagher at firstname.lastname@example.org. New members will be exhibiting in the Art/Place Annual Holiday Show in November and December.
Art/Place members include painters, printmakers, sculptors, photographers and mixed media artists. Members include Barbara Bernstein and Susanne Keany of Weston.
