The Weston High boys varsity lacrosse team defeated defending champ Newtown 5-2 in the South-West Conference semfinals on Wednesday at New Fairfield High.
Weston held Newtown to a goal in each of the first two quarters before shutting down its opponent in the second half.Sean Fumai scored two goals for Weston. He also had an assist. Jack Scheufele, Zach Kraft and Richie Miller each scored one apiece.
Grant Limone made 20 saves in goal for Weston, which will play top-seeded Joel Barlow for the championship on Friday at 7 p.m. at Newtown High.
