The Weston High girls varsity volleyball team opened the season with a 3-1 (25–17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15) win over Pomperaug on Wednesday.
Savannah Carpenter led the team at the net with 19 kills. She also had 16 digs.
Sydney Weiss had 31 assists and Fran Holmes had a good floor game with 19 digs. She had 11 service points, as did Justine Belport, who had nine digs.
Kelly Babcock had 16 digs and helped at the net with seven kills while Anna Hengelbrok had four kills and three blocks.
