The Weston Trojans eighth grade youth football team won for the second week in a row, beating Ridgefield 20-8 on Saturday, Sept. 8, to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Weston scored on it’s opening drive to take a 8-0 lead. It scored again to increase the lead to 14-0 at halftime.
Ridgefield opened the second half by going on a long drive to cut the lead to 14-8. Weston scored on its next drive to take a 20- 8 lead to complete the scoring.
The game was played in the rain and Weston scored all three touchdowns on running plays behind a very strong offensive line. The defense was very solid once again, limiting a strong Ridgefield team to one touchdown. Weston got contributions from every player on the team and has shown great team depth over its first two games.
