Following a national search for a new chairman of surgery, New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) has announced that Pierre F. Saldinger, M.D., of Weston, was appointed as chairman of the department of surgery and surgeon-in-chief.
Dr. Saldinger comes to NYHQ from Danbury Hospital, where he served as chairman of the department of surgery, and program director of the Surgical Residency Program. Dr. Saldinger is a professor of clinical surgery at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He previously held academic appointments at New York Medical College and Harvard Medical School.
“NYHQ already has a robust surgery program with talented, dedicated surgeons,” said Dr. Saldinger. “The challenge now is to build upon what is here, help the program grow and provide more access to the community.”
