A debate schedule has been announced for the congressional race in Connecticut’s 4th District, which includes Weston. Rep. Jim Himes, a Democrat, is running for re-election against Republican Steve Obsitnik.
“I look forward to discussing my vision for the future of southwest Connecticut and our nation and to hearing any plans my opponent is ready to propose,” said Mr. Himes in a press release. “I look forward to high turnout and a robust discussion.”
In a separate press release, Amanda Bergen, Mr. Obsitnik’s communications director, said, “Steve Obsitnik has accepted every invitation to debate Jim Himes. He believes the voters of Fairfield County deserve an honest, detailed discussion about the economic crisis in this country, and the best path forward.”
Times and exact locations have yet to be decided. Debate dates include:
Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Stamford, sponsored by the World Affairs Forum.
Thursday, Oct. 18, in Norwalk, sponsored by the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and the Stamford Chamber of Commerce.
Sunday, Oct. 28, in Wilton, sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
