The Weston Trojans eighth grade youth football team defeated Ridgefield 22-16 on Sunday in its first game ever competing as a new program in the Fairfield County Football League.
Ridgefield held leads of 8 -0 and 16 -8 before Weston Finally took the lead with under one minute to play. Weston’s defense intercepted the ball to setup the winning touchdown and also to seal the game on Ridgefield’s final pocession. The victory was a total team effort with big plays coming from numerous players on offense and defense.
