Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) will accept the endorsement of the Democratic Party for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives on Monday, May 14, at a convention held at Cesar A. Batalla School in Bridgeport at 6:30 p.m.
Delegates from each of the 17 towns of Connecticut’s 4th District will gather and formally endorse Mr. Himes’ bid for re-election to Congress.
Scheduled speakers include: Mayor Bill Finch, Bridgeport; state Senator Bob Duff, Norwalk; state Rep. Charlie Stallworth, Bridgeport; First Selectman Cristin McCarthy-Vehey, Fairfield; First Selectman Gayle Weinstein, Weston; Councilman Warren Pena, Norwalk; State Rep. Gerry Fox, Stamford; Jim Ezzes, DTC Chair, Westport; Town Clerk Alma Maya, Bridgeport; state Rep. Patricia Billie Miller, Stamford; First Selectman Rudy Marconi, Ridgefield; Rabbi Jeremy Wiederhorn, Conservative Synagogue of Westport.
This convention marks the start of the formal nomination process which will put Jim Himes’ name on the November ballot.
