In an ongoing effort to offer less formal worship services that speak to the heart rather than the head, Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 285 Lyons Plain Road, will offer a “family service” on Sunday, May 6, at 5 p.m.
The service will feature guitar and keyboard, and hymns that are uplifting and easy to sing. The readings, responses and prayers will have a more contemporary feel, and as part of the Eucharist, communicants will offer each other bread and wine.
Father Robert Hoffman will preach and offer his sermon in a more interactive style.
The scheduled time in the late afternoon plus the changes in the liturgy and music are all aimed at young families, but worshippers of all ages are welcome.
