Marines honor PFC Carmine Magnoli of Weston

Morgan, and Mr. Magnoli’s family members, from left, Marc, Kagan, Lynden and Kendal Magnoli.Private First Class Carmine Magnoli of Weston graduated from United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., on July 20, after completing 13 weeks of intensive basic training.

PFC Magnoli served as platoon leader and earned the distinguished recognition of 1st Batallion Alpha Company Honor Graduate — the outstanding recruit of the entire graduating company. To be considered for honors at graduation a recruit must display determination, ingenuity, a strong work ethic and a team player attitude.

In addition, PFC Magnoli earned his platoon’s High Combined PFT/CFT – Physical Fitness Test and Combat Fitness Test award.

PFC Magnoli is home on liberty and later will report to Camp Lejeune, N.C., School of Infantry. Following his training, PFC Magnoli will matriculate to the University of Alabama in the spring where he will continue his education and serve in the USMC in a reserve unit.

His parents Marc and Lynden Magnoli and sisters Kagan and Kendal attended the graduation ceremony.
