There is a special public town meeting tonight at 7 in the Meeting Room at Weston Town Hall to vote on a land conveyance on Oak Lane.
The town intends to convey three slivers of land, shown as parcels A, B, and C, on map number 2095, as recorded in the Weston Town Clerk’s office.
The purpose of the conveyance is to correct a mistake made in the 1960s when the property was supposed to be conveyed by the town to three property owners.
“All we are doing is correcting something that should have been done years ago in the past,” said First Selectman Gayle Weinstein.
She said an arrangement had been made by the town of Weston to transfer portions of a cul-de-sac that was no longer needed by the town to three homeowners. “For some reason, those conveyances were never made, so we are correcting that now,” Ms. Weinstein said.
The transfer received 8-24 approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission. Because real property is involved, the conveyance requires approval at a town meeting.
