The Ramapoo Pistol Club will conduct basic two-day handgun safety classes for a Connecticut handgun carry permit on the first and second Wednesdays of each month. The next class is Aug. 1 and Aug. 8 at the Indoor Shooting Sports Facility, 60 South Street, Ridgefield.
Students must attend both sessions to pass this course, a requirement for anyone wishing to obtain a permit to carry a handgun in Connecticut. The $100 fee includes a workbook, pre-course knowledge quiz and two lecture sessions. Targets, ammunition, eye and ear protection and handguns will be provided.
Applicants must pre-register for the course in person on any Monday or Tuesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. or from 1 to 4 on Sunday afternoons no later than July 29.
