Music for Your Heart and Your Soul, presented by the Westport Community Band, led by Weston music teacher Sal Larusso, will feature the Good News Gospel Choir, under the direction of Westonite Chris Coogan. The performance will take place Sunday, April 29, at 4 at Saugatuck Elementary School, 170 Riverside Avenue.

The program features concert band and choral sections as well as show tunes, marches, pop and gospel. Admission is free with a suggested donation.

The Westport Community Band is comprised of 60 adult musicians and is celebrating its 35th year this season.

Among the Weston musicians in the band are Susan Betsworth (flute), Robert Roth (oboe), Ken Brown (bassoon), Larry Schwartz (tenor sax), Lisa Brodlie (baritone sax), and Keith Brooks (trombone).

The Good News Gospel Choir is a 50-voice, multi-denominational singing group founded by Chris Coogan that performs nearly every weekend at churches, festivals, fund-raisers and various community events throughout the state. Westonite Bela Litvak is also a member of the choir.
