Candidate statement: Customer service in land use

My axiom as a land use volunteer for 20 plus years is to treat others with respect and courtesy. This approach is rooted in balancing property owner and developer interests with a fair perspective on our common interests as a community. This means giving applicants a clear and transparent path for obtaining permits, a fair assessment of their request and a timely decision.

As chair of the Weston Conservation Commission, I worked with my fellow commissioners and the other land use boards to improve the responsiveness to applicant questions and permit requests as well as citizen concerns about possible code or permit violations. We also put in place on Conservation applications a streamlined approval process for projects that involve minimal impact to wetlands and water courses.

These initiatives to assure good customer service in the land office are important activities that I pledge to continue with your support and vote for me to serve on the Planning & Zoning Commission.
